Traditions, customs, families, neighbors, neighborhoods, attitudes, volunteerism, park and recreation system/programs, businesses (family owned, entrepreneurial, small, large, institutions of the community), Diverse housing stock (single family, multi-family, town houses, rental units, etc.), education system (both public & private), and employers (small, large, new, well established, and innovative).
All of the above and more have created a shared sense of belonging and ultimately strengthened the social, cultural, and economic fabric of our community.
Now it is time for each of us to identify where we are now, where we wish to go, and how we get there. This is called, “The Muhlenberg Township Comprehensive Plan.” Our community’s last comprehensive plan was completed in 2003 and has been successfully brought to fruition over the last 15+ years. A lot sure has changed in those 15+ years! Muhlenberg Township’s new plan will be the community’s vision of how it may wish to grow and change over the next 15+ years.
How will we develop our land; redevelop older areas; insure adequate and diverse housing; provide water, sewer, roads, and emergency services; and protect natural areas? How can you participate in continuing to make our community even more special? Look for announcements about upcoming opportunities such as surveys, open houses, public input meetings, and information booths at community events where you can provide your input. Details about each of these opportunities will be provided on the Township’s website and Township’s social media outlets.
