DRIFT EXPERIENCE Get up close and personal with the Schuylkill River as you DRIFT your way down to Jim Dietrich Park from the Leesport area in a kayak. This event is geared toward paddlers with some experience. For the safety of the group, please no novice kayakers. Participants will meet by the launch area (near the red brick pavilion) at Jim Dietrich Park at 12PM on Saturday, July 15th. Take It Outdoors adventures will provide shuttling services, kayak rentals, and an overview of the day. This is an open event; you may participate if you have your own equipment. All participants must wear a personal floatation device that will be provided as part of the rental. Participants should come prepared with a water bottle, shoes that can get wet and will not fall off their feet, and appropriate clothing for the day’s weather. A hat, sunscreen, and dry bag are highly recommended. Ziploc bags help, but are not water proof. Alcohol is not permitted. This program is contingent upon safe river conditions the day of the event. The cost is $65/single kayak, $115/ tandem kayak and $20 if you bring your own equipment (PFD is required). Reservations are a must. No day of event registration. To register, please visit www.muhlenbergtwp.com.
