Hometown Heroes Banner Program
Do you know of an active duty or retired service man or woman? Muhlenberg Township currently has a Hometown Heroes Banner Program. This is a great way to honor and thank those who served and continue to serve our country. We are looking for interested parties to sponsor banners that will be placed on light poles within Jim Dietrich Park. The banners are 60 inches tall and 30 inches wide and will have a photo and details of your Hometown Hero such as where and when they served.
Banners are made of durable weather-resistant vinyl which will last for many years. Banners have already been hung at Jim Dietrich Park, so act now to reserve a spot. Information can be found by calling the office at 610-929-4727, or by visiting the office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. We need at least 15 banners per set to maintain a banner cost of $200 which we currently have so the only wait time will be for the banners to be printed. You will have an opportunity to see a proof of your banner before it is printed.
Contact the office at 610-929-4727 or stop in during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. View or download the Hometown Heroes Application (PDF).
During the hours of 7 to 10PM on Oct. 11, 12 & 13th Jim Dietrich Park becomes haunted. The Haunted Hayride will travel through the hollow and along the river. Be careful though, you don’t know who’s hiding behind the trees or in the fields! The Haunted Barn will take you on a scary adventure through various passageways of the barn. Be prepared for the fright of your life. Children under 10 should have parental supervision. All wagon rides will be haunted from 7 to 10PM each night. There will be a bonfire to warm you from the chilly fall air. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Visit the Halloween events page for more information.

NEW THIS SUMMER!
We are proud to offer you and your child a unique summer learning opportunity that was originally created by Matt Hathaway, 4th grade teacher in the Exeter School District.
Muhlenberg Township’s Teachers in the Parks program is designed to meet the specific learning needs of our kids. All rising 1st - 6th graders for the 2019-20 school year are eligible for this program, which will meet at the Laureldale Playground over the summer to receive hands-on instruction from highly qualified teachers. All lessons align with the Muhlenberg School District’s curriculum, designed to be fun, and aim to bridge the academic summer gap between grade levels. The teacher in charge of your child’s small summer park group will custom design the lessons to met your child’s needs. We look forward to working with you this summer at Teachers in the Parks! Please fill out a registration form at the Township Building or online. There are a limited number of spots available for this free program.
